Job Description -
We are a small congregation which truly functions as a church family. Our history includes several mergers, and some members travel over 20 miles to worship and serve. Our building is right-sized for our needs, well-maintained, and totally accessible.
Our location is at the crossroads of several municipalities. The community knows us through our annual Easter Egg Hunt – which drew almost 100 people this year – as well as Trunk or Treat and our Blessing Box. The women’s circle holds an annual “Bingo & Baskets” event which raises several thousand dollars for local charities. These events are largely funded by donations from our generous congregation. We are exploring new avenues for service and hope that our new pastor will guide us in that search.
We seek a personable pastor to lead engaging worship which is informal in tone but based on the Book of Common Worship. We expect our pastor to offer care to the homebound, the ill and the bereaved; to be available for emergencies via text or phone; to perform baptisms, weddings, and funerals as needed; to moderate our Session; to work with our committees and Deacons; and to support church activities. If time allows, we hope that our weekly Bible studies would continue under our pastor’s leadership.
Heritage offers a total compensation package of $45,000, which is inclusive of salary, housing allowance, and any necessary participation in the Presbyterian Pension Plan. Reasonable professional expenses not to exceed $3000 are also offered when supported by documentation.
4 weeks’ vacation and 2 weeks’ study leave.
Additional time off is negotiable with appropriate adjustments to compensation.
We would consider sharing a pastor with another congregation.
