Job Description -
The Presbytery Leader’s focus is on systemic issues and ministries of communication, anti-racism, relationship-building, facilitation of the visioning of a hope-filled and faithful future, implementation of the Presbytery Collectives Model, and support a healthy committee structure. This role includes:
- Providing pastoral care and support to help with the healing of trauma deeply integrated in the life of the Presbytery (trauma informed leadership)
- Facilitating integration of anti-racism work in the POD in all aspects of its operations
- Identifying partners/resources to do training with POD on reimagining how it does its work together (respectful communication practices, boundaries, process)
- Focusing on relationship building in the Presbytery visioning structure and as a purpose of presbytery events/ gatherings
- Working collaboratively with Stated Clerk and leading all other staff
- Training and equipping CPM and COM
- Supporting churches in conflict
- Supporting churches in transition
- Encouraging and equipping congregational collaboration for common ministry
- Facilitating a long-term transition plan for Howell Nature Center
- Identifying leadership and facilitating POD ownership of nominating structure
- Mentoring and supporting pastoral leaders
- Being present with congregations for important moments (anniversaries, celebrations, pastor retirements, ordinations/installations)
- Hiring Collective Staff roles
- Recruiting a diverse team to plan for 200th anniversary of the Presbytery
