Geographically: all ELCA congregations in WV (except Bluefield), all ELCA congregations in Garrett County, MD (except Grantsville), and one ELCA congregation in Gore, VA.

Polity: Full-communion partners in extended service are accorded voice and vote in the Synod Assembly upon request and concurrence by the Synod Council.

Ecumenical congregations: WV-WMD currently has one "federated" ELCA-PCUSA congregation (federated is in quotes because its polity is grandfathered from the 1970s). There is one ELCA-TEC 2-point "parish." There is one ELCA congregation being served by a UMC pastor. There is an ELCA pastor serving, in addition to his own call, a UMC congregation, and another serving a TEC congregation.
