Job Description -
The Interim Pastor/Head of Staff will provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and organizational guidance during a period of transition, including facilitating staff meetings. He or she is accountable to the Session and congregation. The pastor leads worship, preaching, teaching, and all aspects of pastoral care, including weddings, funerals, visitation, and counseling, while fostering spiritual growth. The role includes moderating the Session, guiding communication and implementation of the church’s mission, and supporting a self-study process to prepare for new pastoral leadership. The Interim Pastor also inspires and equips leaders, strengthens programs and outreach, promotes evangelism and membership growth, and supervises staff through collaborative and supportive relationships. As head of staff and ex-officio member of committees, the pastor maintains active engagement with leadership and congregational life. This full-time, exempt position is evaluated annually by the Personnel Committee, which also reviews compensation and makes recommendations to the Session.
