Job Description -
The Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, providing leadership in worship, preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and congregational development. Responsibilities include planning and leading meaningful worship services, delivering biblically grounded sermons, and working with the Christian Education Committee to foster spiritual growth for all ages.
The Pastor will guide and inspire the Session, committees, and congregation in developing and implementing ministries that strengthen discipleship, mission, outreach, and community engagement. The Pastor is expected to encourage active participation in the life of the church and help members identify and use their gifts in service to Christ.
Pastoral duties include visitation of members in homes, hospitals, care facilities, and other settings as needed, along with providing counseling, support, and spiritual guidance during times of celebration, challenge, and grief.
The Pastor will supervise, support, and communicate effectively with church staff, work collaboratively with Deacons and ministry leaders, and promote both adult and youth ministries. The Pastor will represent the congregation within the Presbytery of Scioto Valley, Synod of the Covenant, and the wider community, fostering relationships that strengthen the church’s witness and mission.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) for either a solo pastor or housing pastor couple.
