Housing Information - In the ELCA Upstate NY Synod, a pastor's Total Defined Compensation = Base Salary plus Parsonage Value (Base Salary + SS) x 30% plus Total Cash to Pastor. Using this formula, the Parsonage Value for a 50% Call is approximately $7,700.

As taken from our Constitution:
Consistent with the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,
- Every Minister of Word and Sacrament shall:
- preach the Word;
- administer the sacraments;
- conduct public worship;
- provide pastoral care;
- seek out and encourage qualified persons to prepare for the ministry of the Gospel;
- impart knowledge of this church and its wider ministry through distribution of its communications and publications;
- witness to the Kindgom of God in the community, in the nation, and abroad; and
- speak publicly to the world in solidarity with the poor and oppressed, calling for justice and proclaiming God’s love for the world.
- Each pastor with a congregational call shall, within the congregation:
- offer instruction, confirm, marry, visit the sick and distressed, and bury the dead;
- relate to all schools and organizations of this congregation;
- install regularly elected members of the St. Timothy Church Council; and
- with the council, administer discipline, and
- endeavor to increase the support given by the congregation to the work of the ELCA churchwide organization and of the Upstate NY Synod of the ELCA.
A pastor of this congregation shall be a person whose soundness in the faith, aptness to teach, and educational qualifications have been examined and approved by the church, and who has been properly ordained; who preaches and teaches according to the Confession of Faith of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and of this congregation; and whose life and conduct are above reproach.
